Board of Directors
VAIN is currently recruiting Board of Directors for 2014. Our inclusive board is made up of various professionals with years of experience in HIV/AIDS Education and Outreach, Accounting/Finance, Board Development and Non-profit Business Management. We are currently recruiting a few good community members to become general board members to start, with the opportunity to advance as you prove yourself. Please give this level of volunteerism your consideration to join the management team for VAIN. Board of Directors are required to attend monthly board meetings on the Third Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm until 8pm located in Corvallis. Planning Committee - World AIDS Day December 1st 2014
We are currently recruiting volunteers to join our Planning Committee/Team. VAIN is planning it's annual World AIDS Day events for December 1st, 2014. We are seeking individuals interested in the planning and implementation of VAIN's World AIDS Day festivities which is a community awareness and fundraising event. Mandatory Attendance in a monthly meeting is required and is normally in the evening during the week for one to two hours.
HIV Positive Speakers are the core of our most important programs. Speakers go out into to our communities and educate others directly, presenting in schools from middle school up to college, at private functions, and to organizations both large and small. If you are HIV positive and have a story to tell, we want to talk to you!
Positive Allies Education Group is a group of committed allies addressing the issues of HIV/AIDS in Linn and Benton Counties. This group receives extensive training on both the medical and social justice aspects of HIV/AIDS Activism and become community ambassadors participating in various speaking and presentation opportunities to community organizations and companies of all sizes. HIV101, STI & Hepatitis-C Presentation skills training provided.
Information Tabling is where volunteers attend functions around Benton, Linn and Marion counties at various community events, schools and colleges to help with the presentation of information to event attendees, answer questions, and pass out brochures and informational pamphlets. Tabling shifts are variable, often four to six hours, and in return you gain extensive training and you get to attend the event for free!
VAIN is a 100% all volunteer community based non-profit organization so the pay is non-existent, but the rewards are superior. Specialized HIV/AIDS, STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and Hepatitis-C training is included. Even if you don't see the right opportunity for you listed here, we can probably use your help!
